Get answers to common questions about Lower Lip Wax.
Most clients feel a quick sting when the wax is removed, typically brief and tolerable. We use gentle techniques, temperature checks, and can offer topical numbing on request to improve comfort.
Results generally last three to six weeks depending on individual hair growth and hormones. Regular maintenance appointments every four to six weeks help keep the area consistently smooth and refined.
No extensive prep is needed, but hair should be about ¼ inch for best results. Avoid topical retinoids and heavy creams before your appointment, and arrive with a clean, product-free lower lip area.
Waxing can occasionally lead to ingrown hairs, but our technique reduces that risk. Post-care includes gentle exfoliation after a few days and moisturizing to prevent and manage ingrown hairs effectively.
Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and intense exercise for 24ā48 hours. Keep the area clean, use a soothing, non-comedogenic moisturizer or aloe, and avoid picking or applying makeup immediately after waxing.
Clients with active cold sores, recent chemical peels, open wounds, or isotretinoin use within six months should avoid waxing. Also consult for severe skin conditions, allergies to wax, or uncontrolled medical issues.
